A POEM A DAY - SILK PETALS

Red poppies are a yearly delight bringing joy for their beauty and the reflection inspired by their presence in fields of scarlet. These purple petaled poppies were a spring surprise, found on the roadside high in the hills in Eastern Spain. The petals remind me of the scrunched tissue paper sheets I loved as a child. In Spanish this paper has a beautiful name,  'papel de seda', paper of silk.
